Daily usage precautions
1.Preheating before starting: When starting the vehicle in winter, let it idle for 3 to 5 minutes first, and then turn on the air conditioner to avoid excessive sudden load on the compressor in low temperatures.
2.Avoid frequent start and stop: Repeatedly turning the air conditioner on and off within a short period of time (such as multiple operations within one minute) will accelerate the wear of the clutch and the internal impact of the compressor, shortening its lifespan.
3.Clean the condenser: The condenser of the Hummer H2 is located behind the front grille. It is necessary to regularly clean the dust, mosquitoes and debris on its surface to ensure smooth heat dissipation. Otherwise, it will cause the system high pressure to be too high and damage the compressor.
If the air conditioner experiences a sudden drop in cooling effect, abnormal noises from the compressor (such as metallic knocking sounds), or frosting on the pipelines, it must be turned off immediately and repaired. It should not be used any longer.
Common maintenance misconceptions
1.❌ Mixing different types of refrigerants or refrigeration oils: this can lead to the failure of internal lubrication in the compressor, corrosion of seals, and eventually cause the compressor to seize up.
2.❌ Adjust the clutch clearance at will: a clearance that is too small can easily cause the clutch to stick, while a clearance that is too large will result in poor engagement, slippage and overheating.
3.❌ Ignore the replacement of the drying bottle: The drying bottle is responsible for absorbing the moisture in the system. If it is not replaced for a long time, the moisture will cause the internal parts of the compressor to rust.
